Remembering Irvine “Irv” Robbins (1917-2008), Founder of Baskin-Robbins(R)
May 6, 2008 - Irvine (Irv) Robbins, co-founder of Baskin-Robbins passed away late Monday in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He was 90 years old. Robbins, and his brother-in-law Burton (Burt) Baskin, founded the Baskin-Robbins ice cream chain in 1945, which today is the world's largest chain of ice cream specialty shops with more than 5,800 stores in 34 countries.

According to Srinivas Kumar, Chief Brand Officer - Baskin-Robbins Worldwide, "All of the Baskin-Robbins employees, franchisees and licensees are saddened by the loss of Irv Robbins. Along with his brother-in-law Burt Baskin, Irv was a pioneer in both the ice cream and franchising business and leaves behind a great and enduring legacy."

Baskin-Robbins(R) Offers a Sweet Deal with its Annual 31 Cent Scoop Night Event
April 16, 2008 - Mark your calendars, 31 Cent Scoop Night is back at Baskin-Robbins! America’s favorite neighborhood ice cream shop is sweetening the spring season by hosting its second annual 31 Cent Scoop Night celebration on April 30, 2008 from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. at all 2,700 stores nationwide. During the event, the iconic ice cream brand is thanking its loyal customers by reducing prices of its 2.5 oz. ice cream scoops to 31 cents. Additionally, Baskin-Robbins will again partner with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), in an effort to extend support to the firefighting community, by donating $100,000 to the organization. Together, Baskin-Robbins and the NFFF will honor 31 firefighters from across the country who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to community service through the newly created America’s 31 Firefighting Heroes program.

Baskin-Robbins Partners with Hershey's(R) to Create Menu of Sweet Satisfactions
February 19, 2008 - Candy Bar Madness is back at Baskin-Robbins! America's favorite neighborhood ice cream shop has again teamed up with America's favorite candy company, The Hershey Company®, to create cravable ice cream and candy concoctions. Baskin-Robbins is offering 13 candy-infused ice cream treats that will satisfy any candy-lover's craving. The popular menu line-up has expanded with the introduction of three new YORK® Peppermint Pattie-inspired ice cream offerings and the return of REESE'®S Peanut Butter Cup and HEATH® ice cream treats. The offerings are available nationwide for a limited time, while supplies last, Feb. 18 through June 1, 2008.

August 2005 – Here’s the ultimate scoop! To commemorate its 60th birthday, ice cream icon Baskin-Robbins will launch a succession of sweet events and initiatives beginning in September 2005. Paying special tribute to the ice cream flavors created throughout its 60 years, such as Beatle Nut, Gold Medal Ribbon®, and Jamoca® Almond Fudge, Baskin-Robbins stores will offer scoops for $1 every Tuesday night, ask the world to name its favorite Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavor, and add two new unique flavors to Baskin-Robbins’ flavor library of more than 1,000 flavors.
